CloseMyCar CA is a product operated by KAYO GROUP INC. The company is the publisher and is responsible for the guides on this site. We do not present the content as having been written or reviewed by a California attorney, DMV employee, or licensed registration specialist.
How we use sources
For statements about title transfer, the Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (NRL), DMV forms, and deadlines, we link to the relevant California DMV title-transfer guidance. For Smog Check statements, we link to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Each guide lists its own sources and a last-reviewed date. Those dates describe our review, not the agencies' publication dates.
Our product instructions and practical recordkeeping suggestions are separate from official requirements. When a transaction does not fit a standard, eligible private sale, the guide directs readers to the agency or a qualified professional rather than treating a general page as a personalized ruling.
When content changes
We revise a guide when an official source or a verified correction changes a material statement, and we update its visible review date after checking the relevant sources. A revised page's sitemap date reflects a meaningful page change, not a routine calendar refresh. A recent review date is not a guarantee that a rule has not changed since that review.
Report an error
If a link is broken or an instruction appears wrong or outdated, use our contact page. Please include the guide URL, the exact sentence, and an official source if available. We will check the report against the relevant agency source and correct or clarify the page if warranted. Do not send title images, driver's-license numbers, buyer addresses, or other sensitive sale documents just to report a content error.
