Terms of Use

1. Who operates the product

These Terms are between you and KAYO GROUP INC, a Texas corporation (“KAYO,” “we,” “us” or “our”). KAYO operates CloseMyCar CA. CloseMyCar CA is the product name and is not a separate corporation, registration service, law firm or government service.

2. What CloseMyCar CA is

CloseMyCar CA is software intended to help users organize a standard private vehicle-sale closing in California. It provides an eligibility check, guided checklist, links to official forms and instructions, completion prompts, a local handoff record, reminders and local PDF and JSON exports.

The current product status is LIVE. The workspace stores transaction contents locally in the browser; exported files are downloaded to the user's device.

3. Eligibility and your responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for providing accurate information, confirming that you have authority to sell or buy the vehicle, reviewing every document, obtaining required signatures, meeting deadlines and submitting official documents through the correct government channel.

4. Standard California private-sale scope

The standard flow is designed for a California-titled vehicle, a private seller who is the titled owner, a private buyer, a title available at handoff, no unresolved lien and a vehicle remaining in California. The product does not determine that a transaction is lawful or complete.

5. Unsupported and exceptional transactions

CloseMyCar CA is not designed for active liens, loan payoffs, lost or out-of-state titles, a seller who is not the titled owner, deceased-owner or probate transfers, salvage or nonrepairable vehicles, specially constructed vehicles, dealer sales, cross-border transactions or other unusual circumstances. Stop using the standard flow and contact the California DMV or a qualified professional when an exception applies.

6. Independent product; no government affiliation

CloseMyCar CA is an independent software product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, AAA or another government or membership organization.

7. No legal advice or registration-service representation

KAYO does not provide legal advice, legal representation or a legal document service through CloseMyCar CA. KAYO does not represent that it is a licensed vehicle registration service and does not file documents on your behalf. Information in the product is general organizational information and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

8. No DMV representation or guarantee

KAYO does not speak for the California DMV. CloseMyCar CA cannot guarantee that a form will be accepted, that a title will transfer, that a buyer will complete required steps, that an NRL will remove every form of liability or that an agency record will update by a particular time. Official agency instructions and decisions control.

9. Official documents remain your responsibility

You must review, sign, date and submit official forms yourself unless a separate authorized professional lawfully does so. Product prompts do not replace the original form, its instructions or the duty to check current requirements. Do not treat a CloseMyCar CA summary, checklist or export as an official DMV document.

10. One-transaction licence

A completed purchase grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use one workspace for one private vehicle sale. It does not permit resale, sublicensing, automated extraction, commercial form processing for others or use as a registration-service platform.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use the product to submit false information, impersonate another person, infringe rights, evade legal requirements, distribute malware, probe security, overload the service or reproduce the product for competing commercial use. KAYO may suspend access reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or third parties.

12. Price and payment

The displayed price is $14.99 USD for one transaction, charged once with no subscription. Stripe processes payment information on its hosted service. The charge is payment for independent software and is not a DMV fee, tax, registration fee, smog fee, title fee or payment to a government agency.

13. Access and delivery

A successful payment purchases access to one CloseMyCar CA workspace for one vehicle transaction. Access is delivered only after KAYO's server verifies the Stripe payment and provides a valid access session or access link. A browser return page, checkout-session identifier or receipt by itself does not grant access.

14. Refunds

The Refund Policy is incorporated into these Terms. Refund requests are reviewed under that policy and applicable law.

15. Intellectual property

KAYO and its licensors retain rights in the product, software, design, original text and branding. Government forms and official materials remain the property of their respective public agencies and are linked as third-party resources. Your transaction information and selected photos remain on your device in the current MVP. KAYO does not claim ownership of them.

16. Third-party and government links

The product may link to California DMV, BAR, Stripe and other third-party services. KAYO does not control their availability, content, privacy practices or decisions. A link does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Review the terms and privacy practices of each third party.

17. Availability and changes to the service

KAYO may modify, pause or discontinue the product, subject to existing purchase and refund obligations. Maintenance, government-site changes, network failures or other events may interrupt access. KAYO will not silently convert a one-time purchase into a subscription.

18. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the product is provided “as is” and “as available.” KAYO disclaims implied warranties that may lawfully be disclaimed, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. This clause does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.

19. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KAYO will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for a buyer's failure to transfer title, an agency decision, penalties caused by missed deadlines or inaccurate user information. Nothing here limits liability that applicable law does not allow KAYO to limit.

20. Indemnification

Subject to applicable law, you are responsible for claims resulting from your intentional misuse of the product, fraud, violation of another person's rights or submission of information you had no right to use. This provision is not intended to make you responsible for KAYO's own misconduct.

21. Applicable law and consumer rights

KAYO is a Texas corporation. These Terms do not limit consumer protections or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. These Terms do not impose an arbitration requirement or class-action waiver.

22. Changes to these Terms

KAYO may update these Terms for product, legal or operational changes. The page will show a new “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting an existing purchase will be communicated when required by law and will not retroactively remove rights that already apply to that purchase.
